Dental Implants

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts that replace the roots of missing teeth. Dr. Beischel is able to place implants during a minor surgical procedure that takes place here in our office.

Do I need a Dental Implant?

Implants are used for a variety of reasons – replacing a single tooth, replacing multiple teeth, and even for attaching dentures! The restored implant functions just as well, if not better than your natural tooth.

Learning About Dental Implants

The procedure itself takes about four appointments. The first appointment consists of an exam and a Cone Beam image that allows Dr. Beischel to review the structure of your bone and where your nerves are located. The second appointment is the actual placement of the implant – a healing cap is placed over the implant to keep your tissue from growing over the implant during the healing process. The third appointment takes place 3-4 months after the implant is placed as the implant needs time to integrate into your bone and heal. This appointment is also where Dr. Beischel will measure for your new crown. The final appointment is 2 weeks after and when you will receive the final restoration for the crown.
